The Ultimate Crossdresser's Guide Part I

The Ultimate Guide To Crossdressing Part I

CD's all over the world are completely different.
As I've stated in other posts people crossdress for many different reasons.
For all the CD's out there who treat this as more of a lifestyle then just a sexual thing then this post if aimed at you.

Wigs

Whether it be a cheap halloween costume wig or a high end human hair wig nothing is going to look as authentic as your own real hair, so consider growing it out.

I have never owned a wig, and i never will (i have no need to). But for whatever reason you don't want to grow your hair longer then I'd suggest investing in a high end & better quality wig.

Eyebrows

Looks like things have taken a turn for the better when it comes to brows.
Very few men are blessed with a great shaped non bushy brow lol But for quite some time now women have also been sporting the "I don't give a pluck" look and it doesn't make them any less attractive.

Not too thin, not too thick...... Just right

For guys who have a unibrow/monobrow KILL IT!
Get those tweezers out & get plucking!

For most men I would suggest plucking a bit just to try & neat it up but you perfectionists out there be warned! You could end up with no hair left at all.

Not so confident in the in the plucking area? Then here are more options for you:
  • Ask wife/parter to give you a hand. If they know & accept your CD side then this will help  alot. If they are unaware then still ask them to help, just say you want them tidied up a bit & a little less bushy.

  • Salon! Don't let this scare you, you'd be suprised how many men get their brows plucked now. Do as i said above, ask for a tidy up, not too thin & not too thick. At the end of the day the people who work in a salon are there to provide a service & even if you said "I'm a CD i want girly eyebrows please!" I'm pretty certain they wouldn't be phased by it.

Facial Hair

Let's face it, facial her is one of the main issues when it comes to crossdressing.
We can shave & shave & shave but let's be realisitc, that shadow is not going anywhere (unless you go for 'special hair removal')

Waxing is a big no no! trust me i've been there. The skin is too sensitive and the hair is stubborn.
I'm not sure if there are any creams for facial hair (I would assume there are products, don't use any removal that is not suited for the face).

Let's have a look at the 'speical hair removal' i mentioned.

Laser & Electrolysis

As with everything they both have pros & cons (laser seeming to have much more cons).
Laser only truly works on lighter skinned people with dark hair, the laser affects the pigment of the hair. So that means it pretty much useless on people with lighter hair and of darker skin.

Electrolysis works with everyone, no matter what skin tone or hair colour BUT it can discolour the area being treated. Both have flaws but you can easily find out more if you are interested (laser & electrolysis are not for me).

Dressing For The First Time Infront Of GF, Friend etc

This is a HUGE step for most CDs & not to be taken lightly.

I've read several cases of this topic & expirienced it myself and i've yet to come across a story that is different.

My 1st Time:

At 17 i started dating a girl from college that i knew for about a year. We got on great & were like best friends. Anyway, i used my humor trick & joked about wearing tights 1 time in a conversation. Not long after there i was, with her in person wearing tights.

At the time i thought nothing of it, i was doing somthing i enjoyed and she had no problem with it. Then after came the old guilt & shame (you CDs know what I'm talking about) and within about 2 weeks the relationsip was over and i lost someone who was a great friend. Why? because i let my mind and negative thoughts get the better of me.

Crossdressers

You've just done something that alot of crossdressers dream about, realise that the person you dressed infront of is OK with it. I know, it's easier said then done.
Before you do something silly (like what i did) stop, think & talk to your girlfriend/friend.
Discuss what happened, more then likely these people have no idea how your mind thinks after dressing. For most this is all new to them.

Girlfriends/Friends

If your friend/boyfriend suddenly seems different after the incident talk to him!
Especially becuase its the first time the bad feelings seem 10x worse. Just reassure him, let him know that he has no reason to feel shame.
Reassurance is the key, sooner or later it will get lodged into his brain and hopefully squish the negative thoughts. Just ask if there's anything he'd like to talk about and that he can tell you anything.

How To Paint Your Nails Perfectly Everytime

Not So Good At Painting Your Nails?
You Have 2 Solutions:

1. Take alot of time & practice to perfect your technique.

~OR~

2. Paint over your nails without worrying with polish going on the skin around your nail.

But wait...... wouldn't number 2 mean that you're messing up your nails?
Yes you are...... intentionally.

If you've read one of my recent posts about my pre-photo shoot routine you'll notice how i do my nails first and then have a shower. The reason is that the polish comes off the skin so easy if you have a shower or bath. I get perfect nails every single time.

Ideally you're going to want to use to use a base coat, colour & top coat just so you get the most out of it.
The base coat will help to protect your nails from staining & the top coat will keep your nails colour longer without chipping.

If you're new to painting your nails & not sure what brand to go with you can't go wrong with Miss Sporty.

As i said above try solution number 2, work from the base of your nail up to the tip & don't worry if it gets on your skin, just make sure you get your nails painted good and have a shower or bath after =)

My Pre-Photo Shoot Routine

Usually when i prepare for photos i always follow the same routine.
Try it out next time you do photos of yourself x =)

Here We Go!

  • Paint finger nails & toe nails.
  • Shower - wash body, wash hair (Rachie Roo Style), shave legs & armpits.
  • When finished use 1 towel to dry hair while another towel is wrapped round the waist. Wrap towel around hair and sit there as my body naturally dries (i find that drying with a towel can leave my skin feeling not so soft).
  • Now fully dry i moisturise my entire body either with moisturiser (duh) lol or body butter.
  • Shave facial hair (using a women's razor & shaving foam, not becuase i'm a CD i just find my venus is better then other razors i've used). I don't do wet shaves anymore, i find i cut alot easier so instead i used a warm damp towel while i shave.
  • Next  i dress in whatever i'm going to wear for the shoot.
  • Brush hair (straighten hair sometimes).

Make-Up!
(In Order)
  • Concealer
  • Foundation
  • Eyeshadow
  • Eye Liner
  • Mascara
  • Blush
  • Lip Gloss

If you do make a mistake don't panic. Using a cotton bud/Q-tip & moisten the end then carefully fix any errors.

So there's my routine x
If you try it out let me know how it goes =)

Advice: Taking Those 1st Steps Outside...... 'En Femme'

This is possibly 1 of the hardest things for a crssdresser to do.

Why Do It Alone?

OK now i realise there are 1000s of CDs out there who've not yet told their wife or live alone, but this doesn't mean you are alone. So if you're wife dosn't know, find another CD to try and expirience this with, it's scary as it is but if you're with someone else it eases everything so much more. Obviously if you're wife or girlfriend do know then do this with them =)

My Expirience

Through all my years crossdressing not once did i ever have the desire to go out fully dressed. When i met my girlfriend this changed over time. We stay in a hotel from time to time and we've gotten to know most of the staff there. Anyways my GF would bring up the idea of taking me down to the lobby in the night fully dressed. At 1st i said i would like to but i was scared, I'd feel like i'm on display etc After a about a month or 2 i told her i want to do it.

She spent a few hours doing my makeup and putting my outfit together for my debut =P After everything was ready the hardest part came...... now i just need to walk out the door.
I gathered up my nerves & took a deep breath. With my GF holding the door open i put 1 foot infront of the other almost like a model on a catwalk =P

I was shocked at the reaction I had when i approached the main desk in the hotel lobby, the 3 members of staff (2 guys & 1 girl who overtime I had gotten to know) were so friendly and very professional. As it was quite late in the night there weren't too many people around. Me, my GF and 2 of the staff went out for  cigarette, the woman being shocked at how well i walked in heels. My GF gave me her jacket becuase i was cold (she was a perfect gentleman =P).

As time went on people came and went from the hotel and for her amusement my GF made me open the doors for people coming in. Again i was shocked at how poepl reacted, a group of guys didn't know where to look when i came face to face with them, and quite a few girls were looking alot too (probably jealous of my gorgeous long legs lol).

How I Felt After & Advice

The attention i was getting at first was scary but as time went on I started to enjoy it =D
We were down in the lobby for a few hours and the woman even took a picture of me on her phone.
Even though it wasn't super public and jsut down to the hotel lobby it was a huge step for me and gave a me a taste of what it's like to actually be infront of others en femme.

So I'd advise for you to do the same, stay in a hotel for a few nights either with your wife/girlfriend. Or find a fellow CD to share this amazing expirience with. The happiness that fills you after is so overwhelming giving your confidence a huge boost and believe me you will not regret it.
If after this you want to take it further i would suggest looking for a TG/CD bar in your city and get a taxi there =)

This is what I've been looking into doing next so if this does happen i will be sure to post up my expirience.
I hope this helps x

Advice For Newbie Crossdressers III: Last One I Promise!

Back For The 3rd Time

Hi again newbies, hopefully you shouldn't be so noobish now after the first 2 posts lol =P
Just before we get into this, this will be the last 'newbie' post, next we move onto amateur! lol just playing =D

Make Up!!!

This is a tricky thing seeing as your new to the whole CD world but I'm just going to do my best.
Never any privacy for you to do make-up? then don't worry about this for now. But! you can paint your toenails! nobody's going to be seeing them so there's something you can mess around with =D
For those who do get privacy, well, get on youtube! look up tutorials, there are thousands if not millions of make-up tutorials on there. But where to get make-up? well......who's your best friend? EBAY!

Now before you go all cosmetic frenzy do your research!
Read reviews, get to know the brands etc
(Rachie Roo will be reviewing tonnes of cosmetics so keep an eye out on her blog)
Also i suggest you pick up some kind of beauty bible like this:

They are amazing believe me =P

How To Feel Fem Without Being Fem

Let's face it, we can't just dress up when we want, if you can then, great for you! =P
OK first off: Music. Listen to more female artists then normal, simple.
Got a facebook? talk to more of your female friends. Don't have any? make some! social network sites, forums, chatrooms etc (always be wary of who you talk to though).
See what the latest fashions are online, look for different kinds of clothes you like.
If you're of age buy a girly drink (they come in a can now! =O).
There's so much you can do and I'm sure you could come up with more ideas yourself =)

Wearing Womens Underwear Underneath Your Everyday Wear

OK to some this may not seem like a big deal, and others might not have the desire to go out 'en femme' and only want to be fem underneath. So what's stopping you?

So you think to yourself someone might see...... more then likely not. And even if it still worries you there are countless things you can do just to be extra sure nobody sees.

Some mens dress socks look very similar to stockings or tights, so why not just wear stockings or tights?
But what about the waistband? you may ask. Tuck your shirt into your trousers or if you wear hoodies and jeans tuck the t-shirt under your hoody into your jeans.
OK so we're past the waistband issue what's next? You don't wear dress socks? then just wear your mens socks over the tights/stockings, simple. Still worried? well just wear nude tights for now until you're comfortable enough to move onto other colours.

The thing is nobody has X-ray vision so you're pretty safe. Bras are completely different obviously cuz they stick out but tights/pantyhose & stockings and thongs/knickers/panties, well, just do as i said above and you'll be fine =)

Advice For Newbie Crossdressers II: Clothes (underwear)

Back To The Noobs =P

OK, lets talk clothes! Ebay is going to become you're new best friend (aswell as Xdressing of course lol).
There are many places on eBay where they do private listings for womens clothes (there are even places on there that cater to CD/TS). If you're still living at home and I'm assuming you are then just stick with underwear for now (easier to hide).

Don't know your size? Stick with ONE SIZE!
The pro about alot of womens underwear: you can get them in 'one size'.

Tights/Pantyhose & Stockings: Havn't worn them yet? you're missing out if you havn't. Easy to get hold of on eBay and they're easy to hide too! Some girls i know HATE wearing tights, why?......
My theory is that they don't get tights with the right material (not because they buy cheap tights! this is a huge misconception. I've bought many pairs of tights under £1 before and they've all felt great). That magical material i speak of is NYLON, remember it! As close as you can get to 100% nylon and your in the 'OMG Sooo Comfy' zone. =P

Sheer & Opaque (another magical word - DENIER).
Denier indicates how thick or thin tights/pantyhose are, for example: 10 - 20 denier = sheer, 40+ = opaque.

(Watch those nails! Make sure they are filed down smooth before you put on tights.)

Panties/Thongs/Knickers: Now sometimes you can find these in one size, but it's not often. An idea might be to buy a few cheap pairs in various sizes first to get an idea, then go from there (unless you're fortunate to have girl friend who can tell you your size).  The same goes for bras too.

*Hiding Your Things*
Unless you're open about your crossdressing hide your clothes!

I know this is really obvious but I'm trying to give the best advice i can. Now i can't really tell you where because, well, you have to find a good place to stash. Be creative but not too crazy. Apparently some CDs have gone as far as buying a safe to keep their stuff in and to be honest i wouldn't go with this method. You don't want people to know you have something to hide, the whole point is for people not to know you have something to hide.

Follow your gut feeling: If for some random reason you feel that your stuff might be found, don't ignore that. Try to find another place somewhere else to put it just to be sure, better safe then sorry right? (again if you're fortunate to have an understnading older sister who knows then ask if you can keep some of your things with her.)

I hope this 2nd post helps those who are new to Xdressing

Advice For Girlfriends & Wives of Crossdressers

This post is mostly aimed at women who've just found out about their partner and probably have alot of questions so i hope i can clear things up for you. (To be honest though the best thing you can do is sit down and have a good open talk with your boyfriend/husband).

There are so many pros being with a crossdresser:

CDs both adore and respect women (we try to be like you!). We are loyal and no man will treat you more like a Queen.

You won't have a man complaining about going shopping with you, he will enjoy it, you both will and that alone can make you both become closer in the relationship.

As a child I'm sure you played with dolls, dressing them up etc Well now you have a lifesize doll, you can dress him, give him makeovers. Again this is something that you can both enjoy and have fun with.

Teach him how to apply his own makeup and how to paint his nails. Now he we be able to pamper you doing your makup and painting your nails. This isn't a one sided thing, it's something you can both share with eachother.

He's still the same person as he ever was, this dosn't change anything. He's still the same guy you fell in love with in the first place. Just becuase he likes to wear lingerie does not mean he dosn't like seeing you wear it, and it dosnt mean that suddenly you're the dude in the relationship.

Every man has a feminine side just as every woman has a masculine side. If he hasn't told you he's gay then he's not (most CDs are heterosexual). He won't want to become a woman if he's a CD (so no hormones or surgery etc). If he's a TS though that might be a different story.

I do hope this has helped and if there is anything i havn't covered please feel free ot email me at princess_andria@cutey.com

As i said at the top just sit down and have a chat with your man, I'm sure he will be happy to answer any questions that's bothering you. Be open minded and keep in mind what you've read within this post =)

Might even be a good idea to pick up this book and read about people who are married and live with CDs

Advice For Newbie Crossdressers I

A big HI! to those of you new to the world of crossdressing =) Welcome to this fun lifestyle and i hope you're here to stay. I'm sure you might be dealing with alot of mixed thoughts & feelings and probably alot of questions but know that you are not alone and hopefully you will find most of the answers you're looking for in this post. If not then feel free to ask me anything at princess_andria@cutey.com x

So you've crossdressed in some way shape or form, if this has been going on for quite some time more then likely it's not going anywhere anytime soon, so there's no point trying to deny this side of you (believe me I've tried), it's part of you and instead of trying to push it away, embrace it.

Are you gay?...

I don't know, are you? lol crossdressing has no say in your sexual orientation.
(Most crossdressers are heterosexual).

Is there something wrong with you?...

Well, there could be (just playing lol), but as far as wearing girls clothes no =P

Should you keep it to yourself?...
That's entirely up to you, if you decide to do that then that's fine, but over time it may become hard as you might want to express yourself to others. (have a look at my 'Ways To Tell Her' post).

Why are you like this/Why do you do this?...
Majority of the time crossdressing starts in the early teen years. Your body is going through alot of different changes and this is usually the time in ones' life where they experiment and find out their true self. Why are you this way? Things through childhood could've triggered these feelings, so many things could have had an impact. Who knows, it could've been preset in our genetic makeup (now i bet you're thinking of cosmetics =P)

Does this mean you were born in the wrong body?
Chances are no you were not. If this has just kicked in through teens you are most likely a crossdresser. Those who feel as though they are born the wrong gender are not crossdressers, they are transexuals and have come to realise this much earlier on in their life.

Ways To Tell Her

Every crossdresser dreams of finding a woman who accepts him/her and wants to play dressup.
Whether it be a be a friend, girlfriend or your wife here are a few tips and ways to get it started =P

It's a fact women love guys that can make them giggle so humor is the key!!!
You know these adverts you see now and again where the guy is dressed like a woman (bounty kitchen roll for example) well, make some kind of comment or joke about it to your girlfriend or wife and test their reaction (I'm sure you can think of something).
If she dosn't really say anything more then likely she dosn't like it. But if she laughs and make comments there's your starting point =P
The great thing about doing this is theres no risk of completely freaking her out. If it dosn't go according to plan it was just a joke at the end of the day =)

Here's another one:
Say if she's getting changed either getting ready for work, or changing out of work clothes take 1 of her bras and put it on (Waynes World 2, there's a clip like this). More then likely she will be giggling if you do a silly lil dance with it =P but who knows, she might get you to put on more ;)

Why Feel Shame? Be Proud Of Who YOU Are!

As a crossdresser we experience 2 main emotions "en femme". Complete happiness, which then afterwards is followed by guilt or shame. YOU must fight these negative emotions!
1 way that might help is how you view things. Such as the thoughts that fill your pretty heads once you've changed into what I assume you'd call "normal" clothes. (We will come back to this shortly)

First off, societys' views: "What would people think if they knew I was like this?". Does this question sound familiar? Let's face it society has always been judgemental to anything "different" and even to this day things that are more accepted are still frowned upon (such as the gay community). The fact is regardless of who you are and what you do people will judge. There's a huge pro to all this though, if society was super accepting of CDs well it wouldn't be the same would it?, we wouldn't be as unique and "different" as we are, and me personally I prefer it like that =]

Right, back to this whole "normal" clothes thing (grrrr i hate normal lol). Let's just say it there's no such thing as "normal" and clothes well, are clothes =) Seperation of the 2 is another thing that dosn't help with the negative thoughts. The thing is we only live once (well according to some, I believe in reincarnation lol) so embrace it to the fullest! Why get down over something that makes YOU happy? Be yourself and be proud dammit! =P

For a long time I tried to deny this side of me and even hated myself for it, but for nearly a year now i have embraced it to the fullest everyday and I have not looked back. YOU should do the same =] enjoy it and be happy!
